One of the last of the CH-47A Chinook helicopters to be produced, tail number 66-19082 (B-340) was rediscovered at Tan Son Nhut Air Base, near Saigon, in Vietnam during 1996. In November 1972, as United States forces were withdrawing from the conflict, this Chinook was transferred to the Vietnamese Air Force (VNAF). 66-19082 was later captured by the North Vietnamese near the close of the war. Boeing experts paid a visit to evaluate the airframe for possible inclusion into a rebuild program. Unfortunately the aircraft was a total loss. To view more photographs Click-N-Go Here. Editors Note: Could someone possibly obtain the rotor heads and blades to help restore "Easy Money" to it's original condition? |
